My art and writing are two channels I use to express gratitude for all the goodness in my life.  Being creative requires me to step out of my comfort zone and explore new avenues.  When I write and paint from the heart, everything makes sense.  I am grateful for the opportunity to share my joy with you.

Five Photos, Five Stories, Day 2: Bloom

I long for spring's palette.

The world outside my window

has been washed in grays and browns

long enough.

I yearn for pink peonies,

their seductive fragrance luring me outside.

Blue forget-me-nots

merrily dancing across the grass,

freed from the constraints of frozen earth.

Regal iris

Unfurling her beauty alongside

the untamed tiger lily.

I'm ready

to dig deep,

to weed, to plant,

to nourish.

I long for spring's palette.

Many thanks to Elizabeth of teandpaper for asking me to participate in the Five Photos, Five Stories Challenge.  The parameters are simple:   “Post a photo each day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or a short paragraph and each day nominate another blogger for the challenge”.   Today I would like to invite Linda of 52 Weeks to participate.  Linda is a freelance writer, fundraiser, wife, mom extraordinaire from Quebec, whose goal is to profile each week one woman who has touched her life in some way.  I immediately loved the idea!
