My art and writing are two channels I use to express gratitude for all the goodness in my life.  Being creative requires me to step out of my comfort zone and explore new avenues.  When I write and paint from the heart, everything makes sense.  I am grateful for the opportunity to share my joy with you.

IMG_0884 This weekend we took a road trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, home of the Amish, Nittany Lions, and my honey's mother and father.  We arrived in time for the traditional pre-Penn State game ritual of Bloody Mary's (my first, and it was delish!) and settled in to watch our beloved team get their a**es kicked by battle Michigan.  We were not happy campers, but we tried not to let the loss dampen our pleasure of spending time together.  Such is the life of being a loyal Penn Stater!

Today was spent on the road, returning to Connecticut, under heavy skies that spoke of the coming winter.  It always feels good to return home, even after just one night away.  I'm happy to be cozy and warm in our softly lit living room, tucked under a soft cranberry red afghan while my honey watches even more football naps on the couch.  My pre-Thanksgiving plans are in place; the turkey waits in the fridge, the trimmings are bought; this will be a week of preparation and sweet anticipation.

In our house Sundays are for much-needed rest.  Have a lovely week and a Happy Thanksgiving!

Sharing my weekend with Pumpkin Sunrise and Writing & Stuff, two of my favorite places to visit!
