“We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.” - Thornton Wilder
My heart is so full of gratitude these days. For my family, my friends, for each one of you who stop by and visit me here on my little blog.
I give thanks throughout the day. In the morning as I step outside for the newspaper, I say a silent thank you to the rising sun, the stillness, the cold air brushing against my cheek. I thank our home, keeper of memories. I say a quiet thank you even to my tea as it warms my hands and whose sweetness nudges me awake.
This holiday, the Christmas season, I am filled with joy. Soon my daughter will be home from her six month internship in Jordan. It has been 11 months since we last saw her, we will have much to catch up on. I look forward to when my girls are home with us, the smell of sugar cookies baking in the oven, peppermint sticks sweetening our hot cocoa. Our tree, our twinkle lights, the traditions that bring us such happiness.
I will be posting less this coming month but each of you will be in my heart. May your December celebrations be filled with joy and time with loved ones. Sending you love from our home to yours.
