My art and writing are two channels I use to express gratitude for all the goodness in my life.  Being creative requires me to step out of my comfort zone and explore new avenues.  When I write and paint from the heart, everything makes sense.  I am grateful for the opportunity to share my joy with you.

This Week {Words and Pictures}

“I am larger, better than I thought; I did not know I held so much goodness. All seems beautiful to me. Whoever denies me, it shall not trouble me; Whoever accepts me, he or she shall be blessed, and shall bless me.”

~Walt Whitman, Leaves of Grass

This week found me in my studio, immersed in Kelly Rae Robert's Spirit Wings Angel Course.  I have completed four angels so far, the most recent being Angel of Ordinariness.  My angel is a reminder of how much beauty can be found right outside my door.  Trees, birds, butterflies...all can be found in abundance and yet so often I forget to stop, look and appreciate.

I can't remember where I first found the Walt Whitman quote or why I printed it out, but it seemed like the perfect mantra to add.  That, and the smaller one, "embrace joy", just about sums it up for me.

Spirit Wings Angel Course and Michelle GD's wonderful 28 Moments have filled these wintry days with warmth.  This week Michelle encouraged us to focus on nature, both the nature right outside our doors as well as the found treasures we keep in our homes.  She prompted us to reflect on how we relate to nature and to share our thoughts with one another.  I am so enjoying both courses.

Finally, my sweetheart of 35 years {well, 40, if you include the years we dated} surprised me with a bouquet of red roses on Valentine's Day.  One week later, they are still in full bloom.

The weekend promises to be warmer than usual, perhaps Spring really is on its way?

Sharing my week in words and pictures with Jane.

Nature Does Not Hurry
