This week has me dreaming of spring, can you believe it is already the end of February? I am so happy I spent the month participating in Michelle's lovely course 28 Moments, it made what is usually a dreary month magical as we explored the themes of food, nature, rhythm and home. Thank you, Jane, for this beautiful gift!
I didn't get downstairs to my studio as much as I would have liked, but I did finish another painting. I am taking a break from Kelly Rae's Spirit Wings Angel Course for a few weeks so that I can spend time with Flora Bowley's Studio Diaries. I am learning so much! Both emphasize the importance of showing up to the canvas as much as possible in order to find my personal style, so hopefully next week I will get downstairs a little bit more!
I recently began volunteering at Ann's Place, which provides services and resources for cancer survivors. When I was undergoing my own cancer journey I was very thankful for the support they provided and it is a pleasure to be able to give back in some small way. I am a substitute receptionist, which I love because I enjoy meeting new people.
Today is a special day because a dear friend of mine became a grandmother for the first time. We have known each other since our children went to nursery school together 29 (!) years ago. I have been reflecting today on how cyclical life is and how fortunate I am to have friendships that have remained strong through so many years. I knew her son when he was a boy and now he is a father and she a grandmother...life is full of wonder, isn't it?
Finally, on Instagram today a friend posted a picture of her favorite children's book with the hashtag #favechildrensbookfriday. I couldn't resist posting a picture of one of my favorites, Charlotte's Web. What's yours?
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
