My art and writing are two channels I use to express gratitude for all the goodness in my life.  Being creative requires me to step out of my comfort zone and explore new avenues.  When I write and paint from the heart, everything makes sense.  I am grateful for the opportunity to share my joy with you.

The 100 Day Project {week 4}

Oh my, is it really only week four?  I find myself reassessing how to approach this in a way to make it interesting.

A happy life is one which is in accordance with its own nature.  ~ Seneca

A rose is a rose is a rose.  ~ Gertrude Stein

Looking for Cinderella.  Region 1 Sweet Adeline's Competition 2016

There is nothing on this earth more prized than true friendship.  ~ Thomas Aquinas

When tea becomes ritual, it takes its place at the heart of our ability to see greatness in small things.  ~ Muriel Barbery, The Elegance of the Hedgehog

The sunflower is mine, in a way.  ~ Vincent Van Gogh

This pup.  His ears.  His soulful eyes.  Once I couldn't get him to stop and rest; now he seeks out soft blankets and pillows for comfort.  Oh, he's still feisty; when he's good, he's very good, but when he's bad, he's awful.  Beloved mischief maker.  Best friend.

3 things:

  • This week was difficult.  I lost the thread that had been connecting my pictures.
  • I've wandered away from my original intent to use this challenge as a way to learn how to shoot in manual mode.
  • I favor photographs that evoke a mood.

I've taken 28 days worth of pictures.  I had expected I would see a pattern occurring, but that hasn't yet happened.  What is more true is that I sometimes find myself settling for the quick shot in order to have something to post.  It might have been wiser to do a project related to painting, as that is my primary focus these days.  I need to rethink my objective, perhaps bring my DSLR camera with me on walks?  Give myself permission to switch gears?  Something to think about over the weekend.

Until next week,

Tuesday Tidbits
